Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced reading of this. Admittedly I am not one of those people who reads for education, I find politics dreadfully boring (and more often than not depressing), so I did expect to find myself confused or maybe a little bored through this given the title. I did find myself to be both of those things, but not for the reasons I expected. DNF. Somewhere around the 19% mark. I hate not finishing books, or at least getting to the 30% mark before giving up, but I felt like I had been reading for hours and treading water. Life is too short for bad/boring/wtf reading.

The writing was pretentious and scattered. I basically felt like I was reading a livejournal entry of someone trying to be deep and profound and instead I just couldn't stop rolling my eyes thinking, "what the actual fuck is going on here?," the entire time. Leda was wildly immature to be in her early twenties, think "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" but not endearing, cute, or funny in any way. That's all I've got. 1 star. stream of thoughts below.

1% - I’ve been on one percent for the first two chapters and have a variety of thoughts, none of them good so far. It’s been mentioned that Leda, the main character (who has never read Noam Chomsky) is nearing her 20s. In the barrage of jumbled thoughts thrown at me thus far, I can’t help but feeling like she is more around the 15 year old mark.

6% - I am only 6% and Leda is absolutely exhausting in the worst way. I have no clue if I can finish this book.
